This oil on canvas by John Shinnors is lot 25 at Morgan O’Driscoll’s Irish and International online art sale on Tuesday October 25. It is estimated at 5,000-7,000. The sale goes on view at Morgan O’Driscoll’s offices in Skibbereen, Co. Cork from October 15-17. This will be followed by Dublin viewings at the RDS from October 22-25.
Turf Stacks in Connemara by Paul Henry will be a highlight at Morgan O’Driscoll’s Irish and International online art sale on October 26. Measuring just 14″ x 16.1″ it is estimated at €120,000-160,000. The catalogue for this sale of 145 lots is online and it will be on view in Skibbereen from October 15-17 and in Dublin at the Minerva Suite at the RDS from October 22-25.
Citadel (2021) is the title of this piece by the Emly, Co. Tipperary based abstract artist Michael Hales. It comes up as lot 58 at Morgan O’Driscoll’s Off the Wall online art auction today with an estimate of 800-1,200. The catalogue is online and the sale kicks off at 6.30 pm. Everyday Life (2019) by the French born Los Angeles based street artist known as Mr. Brainwash exhorting us all to: “Follow Your Dreams” was the top lot at Morgan O’Driscoll’s online art sale on September 13. It made 16,000 at hammer. Another work from the artist features in the current online sale of affordable art by Morgan O’Driscoll which runs to September 20. Brainwash Spray, a unique screenprint on paper, has an estimate of €1,500-€2,500. The sale offers a wide variety of affordable art and sculpture by artists like Liam Belton, Norman Teeling, Stephen Cullen, Liam Treacy, Michael Foley, John Coen and many more. The catalogue is online now.
Horse paintings by Basil Blackshaw usually attract plenty of interest. This one comes up as Lot 21 at Morgan O’Driscolls Irish art online auction which runs until the evening of September 13. The oil on board measures 12″ x 14″ and is estimated at 4,000-6,000. There is an Emer Gallery, Belfast label on the back. The sale offers a wide variety of art and sculpture including Everyday Life (2019) by the French born Los Angeles based street artist known as Mr. Brainwash exhorting us all to: “Follow Your Dreams”.

THE Red Road by Sean McSweeney comes up as lot 12 at Morgan O’Driscoll’s online art sale, which runs until September 13 with an estimate of €2,000-3,000. The auction features more than 220 lots of art and sculpture by artists ranging from William Crozier and Kenneth Maguire to Kenneth Webb and Pauline Bewick. There is sculpture by John Behan, Imogen Stuart, Patrick O’Reilly, Melanie le Brocquy, Michael Foley and others.
More than 400 lots will come under the hammer at Morgan O’Driscoll’s online sale of affordable Irish art on August 9. Among them are Still Life with Poppies, an oil on board by David French le Roy. Lot 5 is estimated at €800-€1,200.
The Cubist influence is apparent in Norah McGuinness’s painting of Youghal, Co. Cork which comes up as lot number 2 at Morgan O’Driscoll’s online sale next Tuesday evening. The medium is gouache, the painting measures 14″ x 18.3″ and it is estimated at €1,500-€2,500. Born in Co. Londonderry Norah McGuinness studied at the Dublin Metropolitan School of Art and Chelsea Polytechnic. She worked in Dublin as an illustrator and stage designer in the 1920’s and went to Paris on the advice of Mainie Jellett in 1929 to study with Andre Lhote. In the 1930’s McGuinness lived and worked in London and New York before returning to Ireland in 1939 and settling in Dublin. Associated in Ireland with the modern movement in Ireland she helped found the Irish Exhibition of Living Art.
This high summer season sale of 256 lots runs until next Tuesday evening (August 3). From an etching by Sean Scully to a landscape by James Arthur O’Connor the choice is wide and designed to suit all tastes. A brooding Co. Down landscape by Dan O’Neill stands in sharp contrast to a photo realist work by Eileen Meagher of the Erriff River at Delphi in Co. Mayo. There is work by Kenneth Webb, Pauline Bewick, Patrick Scott, Percy French, Mark O’Neill, Barrie Cooke, Mildred Anne Butler and many more acclaimed Irish artists and sculptors.
Sunset in Mayo, a watercolour by the noted songwriter and painter Percy French, is lot 30 at Morgan O’Driscoll’s online sale of Irish art which runs until August 3. The estimate is €4,000-€6,000. There are 256 lots on offer in a sale designed to suit all tastes. The many visitors to west Cork right now will have an opportunity to view this sale in person at Morgan O’Driscoll’s offices in Skibbereen. There will be in person viewing right over the August Bank Holiday weekend. The sale is on view from 11 am to 5 pm from July 30 to August 2 and from 11 am to 3 pm on the day of the auction.
This 2001 work by the Irish artist Bridget Flannery – The Privacy of Drams II – comes up as lot 87 at Morgan O’Driscoll’s online sale of Irish art. The small oil on board is estimated at €400-€600. The catalogue for the sale, which runs to July 5, is on line.
