IRISH SCULPTURE
IRISH SCULPTURE
THE world record price for an Irish sculpture was established at Adams in Dublin in October 2009 when Edward Delaney’s large bronze King and Queen sold for 160,000. The two bronze figures tower 2.5 meters tall. At that sale five lots by the recently deceased Edward Delaney made €300,000, although their pre-sale estimate was in the region of €40,000 (€37,000-47,000). The previous world record for a piece of Irish sculpture at auction was £95,000 for F.E. McWilliam’s Eve in December 2006.
