BANKSY – BANKSQUIAT
Banksy’s tribute to Jean-Michel Basquiat depicting a Ferris wheel in which the carriages have been replaced by his famous crown motif features at Art Evolve at the RDS this weekend. The screenprint is showcased by Gormley’s Gallery along with work by Tracy Emin and Damian Hirst. It is priced at €84,000. Ireland’s leading galleries and artists have joined forces this weekend to celebrate the best of cutting edge and contemporary art.
“The Irish visual arts scene has been struggling to find exhibition spaces for artists, so an event such as this is a brilliant opportunity to meet and engage with Ireland’s best artists and gallerists in one location,” said Tara Murphy, Director of Solomon Fine Art. This gallery is showing a 2m-high bronze sculpture by renowned Irish sculptor Rowan Gillespie and a salon-style wall featuring a broad selection of small, affordable works with prices starting from €195. Art Evolve is a collaboration between the Contemporary Art Gallery Association (CAGA) and 70 established galleries and artists.
