    WATER COLOUR SOCIETY SHOW AT DUN LAOGHAIRE

    THE 163rd annual exhibition of the Watercolour Society of Ireland is now in full swing at the Concourse Gallery in Dun Laoghaire County Hall.  More than 120 contemporary Irish artists are taking part.  The portrait artist Gareth Reid from Northern Ireland, winner of the Sky Arts Portrait Artist of the Year 2017, will be exhibiting as the Society’s invited guest artist.  The show runs until October 1.     The Water Colour Society of Ireland’s 162nd exhibition opens on Monday 26 September at the Concourse Gallery, Dun Laoghaire County Hall and runs for one week.  Over 300 paintings in watercolour, gouache and pastels, drawings and limited edition signed prints, will be on sale in a wide ranging and diverse exhibition.  Well-known artists showing include Jayne Barry, Brid Clarke, Patrick Cahill, Ivor Coburn RUA, John Coyle RHA, Chris Dearden RUA, Pauline Doyle ANCA, Joe Dunne RHA, Edward Freeney, Olivia Hayes, Les Jones ARUA, John Keating, Margaret Kent, Vincent Lambe, Grania Langrishe, Anthony Loughran, Brett McEntagart RHA, Oisin Roche, Tom Roche, Tom Ryan PPRHA, Susan Sex, and Neil Shawcross RHA RUA.  The president of the Australian Watercolour Institute David Van Nunen will show two works as an invited guest artist.   Here is a small selection from the show:

    WATERCOLOUR SOCIETY OF IRELAND EXHIBITION OPENS TODAY

    Paintings by some of the finest floral and botanical artists in Ireland will be on show at the Water Colour Society of Ireland’s 161st annual exhibition, which opens today at the Concourse Gallery at the Dun Laoghaire County Hall. Ireland’s largest exhibition of watercolours and one of the country’s biggest group art shows will run until October 4. There is work by more than 100 Irish artists including floral artists and botanical illustrators Siobhan Larkin, Yanny Petters, Patricia Jorgenson, Anne McLeod, Sue Van Coppenhagen, Nayana Sandur and Nicola Lynch Morrin.  The show will feature more than 280 paintings in watercolour, gouache and pastel, drawings and limited edition prints.

    157th WATERCOLOUR SOCIETY OF IRELAND EXHIBITION GETS UNDERWAY

    IRELAND’S largest exhibition of watercolours is at Dun Laoghaire County Hall, Co. Dublin, from October 10 until October 22. The 157th exhibition of The Water Colour Society of Ireland features more than 110 artists – many members of the Royal Hibernian Academy and the Royal Ulster Academy – and includes nine new  members this year.  The show features landscapes, seascapes, still life, portraits, animal and floral studies, as well as botanical and architectural works, in representational, contemporary and abstract treatments. Prices range from about 250 for a small etching.  Most works are priced at between 350 – 850.

    Among the artists showing are Desmond Carrick, William Carron, Brid Clarke, Ivor Coburn, John Coyle, Chris Dearden Joe Dunne, Edward Freeney, James Hanley, Olivia Hayes, Les Jones, John Keating, Vincent Lambe, Grania Langrishe, Nancy Larchet, Anthony Loughran, Fergal MacCabe, Brett McEntagart, James Nolan, Terence O’Connell, Marc Raynaud, Tom Roche, Tom Ryan, Susan Sex, Neil Shawcross and the Society’s new president, Pauline Doyle.  Here is a small selection from around 280 works on show:
