    A THREE DAY SALE OF 2,000 LOTS IN SIXMILEBRIDGE

    The contents of Lotaville, Lower Glanmire Road, Cork will be included at a live and online three day sale by Aidan Foley in Sixmilebridge, Co. Clare on September 26, 27 and 28. Among them are a watercolour by  Joseph Carey of Blackrock Castle, Cork (€400-€600), A View on the Thames by Augustus Burke (€6,000-€10,000), a set of 12 Cork mahogany dining chairs (€3,000-€5,000) and a tennis bracelet (€12,000-€16,000).  Viewing gets underway today. The sale of 2,000 lots will include contents from houses in Adare and Nenagh.

    THE BATTLE OF THE NILE BY S FRANCIS SMITHEMAN

    The Battle of the Nile is one of a number of works by the British artist S. Francis Smitheman (1927-2016) at an online Malahide house sale by Sean Eacrett on April 7. It is one of four paintings the artist made for the vendor, who first came across his work at a shop near where she then lived at St. Katherine Dock in London. The shop owner mentioned that the artist would be dropping in and they became firm friends. This is the first of the four paintings that Smitheman painted for the seller and it comes with hand written sketches explaining his approach to an artwork to celebrate Nelson’s centenary. It is estimated at 6,000-8,000. The sale features maritime art, classic furniture, Art Deco and Collectibles.

    This 19th century horse drawn carriage, complete with leather style deep button seating and carriage lamps, is at Sean Eacrett’s timed auction of items from various tv programmes and series which runs until November 15. Clare on July 5, 6 and 7.  Around 1,500 lots are to come under the hammer including house contents from Blackrock in Cork city, Ennis, Castleconnell and Limerick city. There is Irish art by James Humbert Craig, George Gillespie, Arthur Maderson and Markey Robinson. Antique furniture lots include a pair of Victorian library bookcases, a Victorian five leaf dining table and a collection of wing back library chairs.  There are light fittings, pub memorabilia, posters, Waterford Crystal, Persian rugs, musical instruments, books, garden statuary and jewellery.     PULPIT OF TRUTH ANYONE?

    The pulpit of truth is one of the more unusual lots at part two of Gerard Derry’s retirement online auction by Victor Mee of Co. Cavan on June 6 and 7. The early 20th century hand carved oak pulpit is part of an impressive collection of architectural pieces, garden and decorative interiors and pub memorabilia. It took three years to complete and is estimated at 40,000-80,000. Bids can be left online, in the office via phone or email. The sale is on Easy Live. The pulpit by Louis Mascré was commissioned by Baron and Baroness Crawhez and donated to the Church of Saint Martin in the town of Ransart, Belgium.

    A BRONZE FOUNTAIN ONLINE ANYONE?

    THIS 150 cm tall bronze fountain is the opening lot at an 845 lot auction by Victor Mee of Cloverhill, Co. Cavan on May 23 and 24. On offer is the personal collection of garden and decorative interiors of Gerry Derry of Armagh, who supplied pub fittings and architectural salvage to clients around the globe. The sale is live on Easy Live Auctions. The fountain, in the form of a girl holding a fish, supported by three intertwined fish on plinth, is estimated at 350-700.

    THIS Tiffany design table lamp, around 18 and a half inches tall, is among the lots at the online sale by Purcell Auctioneers of Birr, Co. Offaly on April 29. It is estimated at 100-180. There are 412 lots in this single owner collection sale of militaria, jewellery, collectibles, porcelain, silver, advertising and musical instruments. The sale is online at Easy Live auctions.

    TIMED ONLINE ONLY SALE AT HEGARTY’S, BANDON

    This pair of Italian silver plated pheasants is the first lot in Hegarty’s timed online only auction which runs on easyliveauction.com until 8 pm on Sunday April 5.  There are 80 lots of art, antiques furniture, collectibles and jewellery at reasonable estimates. The timed sale at Easy Live auctions will be operated through a bidding page as distinct from a live online sale. Bidders need to register in advance. The Bandon auctioneers say that lots won’t be dispatched until after current restrictions around movement have been lifted. The table decoration pheasants are estimated at just €40-80.
