    TRALEE TO DINGLE LINE RECALLED IN ARTWORK AT ADAMS BLACKROCK

    David Briggs – ‘Last Days on the Tralee & Dingle’. UPDATE: THIS SOLD FOR €1,012

    The Tralee to Dingle light railway line closed in 1953. This acrylic on board by the self taught Irish transport artist David Briggs dates to 2018. It comes up as lot 31 at the online timed auction of paintings by Adams Blackrock which runs until August 13 with an estimate of €750-850. David Briggs works exclusively in acrylics and is an associate of the Guild of Railway Artists. The Tralee and Dingle light railway and tramway operated from 1891 to 1953 and the ten km Castlegregory line closed shortly before the Second World War. The catalogue for the sale is online.

    Fabergé 18 carat gold egg pendant and chain. UPDATE: THIS SOLD FOR €4,643

    This Fabergé gold egg pendant and chain kicks off the timed online auction of jewellery and watches by Adams Blackrock which runs until August 13. The body features diagonal gold lines and is inset with three bezel-set round brilliant-cut diamonds. It opens to reveal a textured terrier dog suspended from a moving hinged surmount. The pendant is suspended from an 18ct gold spiga link chain. The necklace is provided with original presentation box and paperwork noting that it is number 43 of 1000 made by Fabergé. The estimate is €3,000-€4,000. The catalogue is online.

    This oil on board of Mount Errigal by Anne Primrose Jury is at the online sale of Irish Paintings by Adams Blackrock which runs until May 21. Under new ownership the company has moved to 17 Kildare St. in Dublin and three online sales, jewellery and watches, antiques and furniture and Irish paintings are all live online and running until May 21. This painting is estimated at €500-€600 and the catalogues for all three sales are online.

    ORNATE 19TH CENTURY IRISH MIRROR AT ADAMS BLACKROCK

    Among the lots at the evening sale of The Fitzwilliam Square collection at Adams, Blackrock, Dublin today (April 13) is this ornate 19th century giltwood Irish pier mirror. There is a canopied pediment above seated figures flanked by birds and scrolled rockwork branches carved with dogs. It is conservatively estimated at €1,000-€1,500. There are 432 lots of fine art, furniture and silver and the auction gets underway at 6 pm.
