An exceptionally complete uniform and personal belongings of Major E.F. Farrell, an officer of the Leinster Regiment during World War I, comes up at Fonsie Mealy’s two day sale in Castlecomer, Co. Kilkenny on July 21-22. The set is estimated at 1,000-1,500. This auction will feature more than 80 tractor seats in mint condition from a collection. The seats, from Ireland, England, Scotland the US, are to be sold as individual lots with estimates from 40 up to 300.
Among more than 1,000 lots is a fine salver by Paul Storr (6,000-8,000), a heart shaped 19th century diamond locket with 63 stones (7,000-9,000) and a half length portrait of Lady Gregory by Sir Gerald Festus Kelly (8,000-12,000). The last remaining stained glass windows from the Harry Clarke Studios, which closed in 1973, will be offered in seven lots at estimates from 400 to 9,000. There are paintings formerly in the collection of Judge James Murnaghan of Dublin and a big selection of antique furniture, art, glass, porcelain and collectibles.
