A house contents sale at 68 Wellington Road, Dublin 4 will be conducted by Matthews of Oldcastle on September 4. The sale will include antique furniture, books, silver and art. The sale, for the executors of the late Oliver McCarron, will include 36 paintings by McCarron from the early 1940’s onwards. McCarron exhibited with the White Stag Group which moved to Ireland from London in 1939 and stayed until after the Second World War. They explored modernist ideas and helped pave the way for later modernism in Irish art. The catalogue is online.
