Sean Scully – Montserrat
Sean Scully’s Montserrat sold for £422,500 at Christie’s evening sale of Modern British and Irish art in London on June 20. It was painted in 1996-97 and purchased by the vendor at Galerie Lelong in Paris in 2013.
A Beach Scene by L.S. Lowry sold for £1.53 million, Midi by Bridget Riley made £902,500, Seated Figure by William Scott made £362,500, Mother and Child Block Seat by Henry Moore made £1.81 million and a Family Group by the same artist made £362,500 and Two Forms in Echelon by Barbara Hepworth sold for £662,500.
