One of Ireland’s largest national group art shows – the 140th anniversary exhibition of the Dublin Painting and Sketching Club – runs at Dun Laoghaire County Hall from March 31 to April 13. This year it will commemorate the 1884 exhibition at which 25 works by James McNeill Whistler were displayed. These included “Arrangement in Grey and Black No I”, now better known as “Whistler’s Mother”. There are around 270 oils, watercolours acrylics and pastels, lithographs, etchings and drawings on show.
