More than 100 exquisite illustrations from the Journal des Dames et des Modes (1912-1914) go on display at the Chester Beatty Library in Dublin Castle from October 11 to March 30, 2014. A century after publication the exhibition provides a vivid snapshot of culture and fashion in early 20th century France. The illustrations, known as Costumes Parisiens, feature a glamourous period just before the oubreak of the First World War.
The display is complemented by a contemporary costumes on loan from the Ulster Museum in Belfast.
