Sotheby’s has marked tomorrows opening of the Venice Biennale with an announcement that it will offer a view of Venice by Claude Monet in London on June 19. The Contarini Palace was painted during a three month trip to Venice in 1908.
Estimated at £15-20 million it will highlight Sotheby’s evening sale of Impressionist and Modern Art. The sale includes works by Picasso, Mondrian and Kandinsky.
The 55th international art exhibition that is the Venice Biennale 2013 runs from June 1 to November 24.
