THE glorious setting of Ballynahinch Castle in Connemara is the venue for an Irish art auction on August Bank Holiday Monday. Galway based Dolan’s Irish art auction house will offer a substantial selection of around 250 lots of painting and sculpture. A pencil drawing of a Connemara mare and foal by Jack B. Yeats is a feature lot, as is a bronze 1631 mortar inscribed to commemorate a marriage between two great Galway families (see post on antiquesandartireland.com for July 19, 2012).
