An 18th century Chinese blue and white jardiniere made 30,000 to become the top lot at the James Adam Country House Collections auction at Slane Castle on October 9. Around 65 per cent of lots on offer were sold and the auction brought in 800,000 at hammer and around the million mark when fees are added. There was a large number of telephone bids but internet connectivity around Slane Castle is insufficiently strong for internet bidding. See post on antiquesandartireland.com for October 5, 2012.
