The collection of the late silver dealer Peter Mosely, who operated out of Union Hall in west Cork, will come under the hammer at Hegarty’s in Bandon on July 20. His collection of 18th and 19th century silver, paintings and furniture includes three high quality 19th century oils of the Cries of London after Francis Wheatley and a silver nutmeg grater from 1690. More than 150 lots of silver will include miniature pieces, 18th century candlesticks, a 72 piece canteen, an 18th century coffee pot and a 1690 nutmeg grater. There is a 20 piece Royal Worcester dinner service from 1916 all signed by James Stinton and collectibles in ivory, porcelain and glass. Antique furniture includes a Killarney davenport (8,000-10,000), a Regency Irish adjustable dumb waiter (3,000-5,000), a writing table almost certainly made by Gillows, a pair of serpentine cabinets and side tables.
