  • THE ANNUAL IRISH ANTIQUE DEALERS FAIR AT THE RDS

    The annual Irish Antique Dealers’ Fair runs at the RDS in Dublin from October 4 to October 7.  More than 50 exhibitors will offer a wide variety of highly desirable objects.  There is a lecture series at the fair, which is to be officially opened by Judith Miller. Visitors to this popular annual event will find everything from antique  furniture, rare books, prints, jewellery, glass, silverware, porcelain, coins, paintings and sculpture.  Innovations this year include interior design products.    Here is a small sample from a large fair (you can click on any image to enlarge it):

    This pottery plaque depicting William Gladstone chiselling at a gravestone ‘In Memoriam Home Rule Bill murdered in the House of Lords 8 Sept 1893’ is by A. George, a late 19th century Somerset potter. It is at George Stacpoole Antiques.
