  • WORKS OF ARTISTS WHO SERVED THE NATIONAL GALLERY OF IRELAND ON SHOW

    THOSE artists who contributed to the development of the National Gallery of Ireland – celebrating its 150th anniversary this year with a number of special exhibitions – are feted in an exhibition which runs at the Gallery until May 11.  Governors, Guardians, Artists features artists who have served on the board.  Many of those who helped the development of the collection are household names.  They include George Petrie, John Lavery, Nathaniel Hone, Sarah Purser, Jack B. Yeats, Evie Hone and Sean Keating. Since the formation of the board more than 50 practicing artists have served on it.  Here is a small selection from the show:
