    James Adam will hold a sale of more than 500 lots of fine period furniture and decorative arts on Tuesday April 13 at 11 a.m.
    It features paintings, furniture, silver, porcelain and collectibles.
    There are a number of Old
    Master attributions like Francesco Solimena, Josepe de Ribera and
    Jacobo de Ponte Bassano. The Bassano, An Allegory of Spring, is
    estimated at 8,000-12,000. Other noteworthy paintings include Charles
    Vasnier’s portrait of Gala, wife of Salvador Dali (€1,000-1,500), John
    Martin’s Landscape with Children at a Cemetary (€1,000-1,500) and a
    Caribbean School portrait of Toussaint L’Overture (€1,000-1,500).
    Furniture includes a mahogany and rosewood sideboard in the manner of
    Thomas Sheraton (3,000-5,000), a George III style mahogany partner’s
    desk (3,000-5,000), an Irish longcase clock by William Betagh
    (3,000-5,000), a longcase clock by Evan’s of Handsworth (1,000-1,500)
    and an Irish Georgian pine and gesso fire surround (8,000-12,000).
    The sale is on view at St. Stephen’s Green from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday April 11
    and from 9.30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday.
